ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The 6-month full-time Post Basic in Intensive Care Nursing programme is designed for Registered Nurses who wish to advance their skills and knowledge in caring for acutely and critically ill patients.

 

Students will learn to provide specialised nursing care in a range of intensive care settings, including:

  • • Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
  • • Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
  • • Intermediate Care Unit
  • • Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

 

The programme focuses on the integration and application of advanced intensive care concepts and theories, enabling nurses to deliver safe, evidence-based, and holistic care in high-dependency clinical environments.

 

Note: All students are required to undergo Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) during the programme.

  • • Possess Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution
  • • Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board
  • • Possess current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
  • • Possess a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate
  • • Min 2 years clinical working experience
  • • Medically Fit
