Advanced Diploma in Midwifery

Overview

The Advanced Diploma in Midwifery programme is designed to prepare registered nurses who are keen to take up midwifery as a profession in their career pathway.


Why Study the Advanced Diploma in Midwifery?

Midwives often describe their job as “privileged” due to their role in preparing pregnant women to stay healthy during pregnancy, ensures safe delivery, care for their newborn and uneventful postnatal period.  This is a 1-year full time programme with one intake, open to registered nurses both locally and internationally. The programme is approved by the Midwifery Board Malaysia (MBM), Ministry of Education and Malaysian Qualification Agency.

At the end of the one year training, all successful students of the programme will need to sit for the MBM Registration, from thereon, they will be registered with the MBM and allowed to practice as midwife.
